Duet Is Live: Daily Grid's Twelfth Daily Puzzle

By Zachary Zimmerman · July 16, 2026 · Play today's Duet

Daily Grid now has twelve free daily logic puzzles. The newest is Duet: a gem-placement puzzle built around colored zones instead of row-and-column quotas.

The rules in one breath

Place exactly two gems in every colored zone. No two gems may touch, not even diagonally. Dark cells belong to no zone and never hold gems. When a zone already has its pair, it dims so you can focus on what is left. Every daily Duet is designed to be solvable by logic alone, same bar as the rest of the hub.

Why Duet exists

Most of our grids ask you to fill lines, close loops, or pack shapes. Duet asks a different question: where can two gems live inside each region without crowding each other or their neighbors? Small zones force early placements; large zones become constraint puzzles once the board fills with automatic exclusion marks. It is a calm daily that still rewards careful scanning.
